Interim review

Object:

I received positive feedback for my object final image overall as my tutor and group commented on my object choice and composition. The problem with my Photograph was that it did not really portray riots clearly. I felt this was fair criticism as this had crossed my mind. My objects however do portray a broken Britain which was my main statement and my objects were clearly recognisable as traditionally English. With this in mind I am not going to change my final image but alter my concept. I started this project with the London riots but have ended up looking more at a broken Britain in a sense of tradition. I am going to research more into this and redevelop my concept.

Pastiche:

My pastiche was acceptable however it does need to be reprinted. I knew this when presenting my image as I struggled in the dark room when printing this image. I shall try and make the background slightly brighter as compared to the original image it is too dark. Also the main element that needs to be redone is my border as it is very wonky. These are only minor changes and can be easily done.

Environment:

My tutor was aware that I had only had a week to complete my images due to having to change my idea. This meant that my prints were unlikely to be my final prints but more like my first attempt at the shoot. I had experimented with 3 different ways of damaging the negatives but the one that was said to have worked best was the burning of the negative. The scratching and wax on the negs were a lot more subtle so the images together did not really look like a collection. We decided that all of the images needed to all be damaged with the same severity as eachother for this collection to work. My tutor liked my idea and overall approach to my new idea so will reshoot and try and develop this further.
